Stephen Mbarushimana Project Coordinator

Stephen is an experienced social worker and Human Rights Specialist with over 20 years of expertise in social work and human rights programs. He currently leads the Rights For All (RFA) project at NCHRD-U.
Stephen has extensive experience in social work and human rights programming having worked in Uganda, Ghana and Bangladesh.
Stephen’s career includes positions with various respected organizations: The Uganda Human Rights Commission (UHRC) as a Human Rights Officer; Ghana Education Services (GES), West Africa as a Human Rights Specialist for the “Human Rights and Peacebuilding Project”; Uganda Community Development Foundation (UCODEF) as a Program Manager; ActionAid International-Bangladesh as a Capacity Building Officer/Human Rights-Based Approach (HRBA) Specialist; Children’s AIDS Fund Uganda (CAFU) as a Child Protection Officer; UNICEF Uganda as a Child Protection Officer; Uganda Road Accident Reduction Network Organization as a Program Manager; Lutheran World Federation/World Service as a Protection Officer; National Coalition of Human Rights Defenders Uganda (NCHRD-U) as Project Coordinator for the USAID/EWMI Rights For All (RFA) project.
Stephen holds the following qualifications: BA Makerere University; MA in Human Rights, Makerere University; CAS in Human Rights Education (HRE), Padagogische Hochschule Luzern, Switzerland; Diploma in Personnel Management and Industrial Relations, College of Professional Management, Jersey, Britain.
