Robert.R. Kirenga is the Executive director of the National Coalition of Human Rights- Defenders since August, 2017. He provides leadership and overall supervision of the secretariat in the implementation of the coalition’s mandate to promote the protection of Human Rights Defenders in Uganda. He is credited for overhauling the organisation into a more responsive and dynamic source of protection for HRDs since assuming its leadership in 2017. He has previously worked with different International organizations providing technical assistance in the areas of institutional development in South Sudan, Somaliland and Zimbabwe.

A 2018 Human Rights Advocates Program Fellow (Columbia University-USA), Kirenga holds a MA – Theory and Practice of Human Rights-University of Oslo-Norway, BA-Political Science & Public Administration MUK, PG Diploma International law & Organization Development-Institute of Social studies (ISS)-The Hague-Netherlands; Diploma in Law-Law Development Centre, Makerere.
