Robert.R. Kirenga is the Executive director of the National Coalition of Human Rights- Defenders since August, 2017. He provides leadership and overall supervision of the secretariat in the implementation of the coalition’s mandate to promote the protection of Human Rights Defenders in Uganda.
Sharon serves as the program manager at the coalition since July, 2019 and oversees the three programs; Advocacy and Networking, Capacity Building and Protection and Emergency response. She comes with a lot of experience in programming having served in various positions at World Vision. Vastly qualified, she is a holder of a Certificate in Indigenous Rights studies summer Program-Columbia University,
Andrew Lubanga joined the Coalition in September 2017. Before holding the position, he served as the Coalition Accountant. He has been instrumental in setting up a fully functional department. He previously served on a regional programme in Care International in Uganda,
As a capacity building officer, Prossy is responsible for identifying the training needs/gaps and coordinating activities for the development of institutional and managerial capacities of stakeholders, members and staff engaged in Human Rights Defence in Uganda.
Edward leads the advocacy and networking program at the coalition which collaborates with other national institutions to promote legislation and policies that advance protection of HRDs in Uganda. Edward has worked with Human Rights Defenders since 2013 and has close to 7 years experience in advancing advocacy on protection of Human Rights Defenders.
Dorothy is an advocate, mediator and a lawyer by training. She is the protection and security management officer at the secretariat. Her tasks entail management of the protection department which has a protection desk that supports Human Rights Defenders at risk to receive and access protection services through the protection fund and referral to other partners.
Doreen joined as an M&E Officer in July,2019. She is in-charge of setting up and operationalizing M&E systems, as well as developing innovative tools, frameworks and techniques to measure change within the secretariat.
Joanitah joined in 2016 as a volunteer before being elevated to the role of Administrator in 2020. She has a degree in Entrepreneurship and small business management at Makerere University Business School
At the secretariat, Frank as a program assistant play a supporting role in the implementation of Advocacy, Protection, and Capacity Building initiatives as well as in Information Technology and data management
She is currently an intern at the coalition since July,2019. Jenny holds a Bachelors Degree in Commerce with additional qualification in Project Planning and Management Post Graduate Diploma.
A graduate of Multitech business school graduated with both a diploma and certificate in business administration and management option accounts. She currently works with as an intern since 2019. My interest is human rights work and doing accounting related work though possesses skills in information technology.
A very dynamic gentleman, David is the caretaker of the office and also manages the security of the office overall ensuring compliance to safety and security guidelines by all internal staff and office visitors.
